ACNE For Lanvin Collection Available

After a long wait and much anticipation the ACNE For Lanvin collection is now available online. The collection consists of all sorts of pieces, including pants, jackets, shorts, shirts, all entirely made from ACNE denim.
Years ago we thought that the all denim look days were over and would probably not return. Then again, who would have thought that ACNE and Lanvin team up. Denim pants, jacket and shirt, all in one outfit, done right, seems to work. Actually, that’s an understatement - it works really well.

You can purchase the collection here.

Now, with the Selvage Lab, Nudie hopes in producing one off denim units - hand laundered in their lab in Sweden - that are “inspired by vintage and real worn in jeans.” What you get is a pair of “broken” in denim which will save you endless hours of wear and Febreze spritzing. Jasper Wong “Pitiful Fools” Exhibition

Earning an accolade as one of the top 200 illustrators in the world by Archive Magazine, artist Jasper Wong will look to open his latest solo show later this month. The artist’s style often features soft, free flowing colors with subject matter including juxtaposition of off-base elements of both American and Asian pop-culture. When looking at the re-appropriations of Jasper’s unhealthy love of the color pink, Mr. T and magical laser beams, you can’t help but smile as the artist’s fun-approach to his illustrations is evident. The show “Pitiful Fools” will open up on December 12th at 6 pm at San Diego’s Subtext, with the show wrapping up on January 11th.

Winter Bags

Humans suffer from ignorance attacks that can even struck the most street wise patrons. Having been out in sub zero weather entering a warm environment, it’s common behaviour to take off outdoor accessories like gloves, hats, bullet proof vests and what not. The biggest trap in doing so is onboard public transportation. With a non-vacated seat next to you it’s common to rest glove on the lonely seat with warming up the fingers with some good old cell phone fiddling. When it’s time to get off amnesia while any sense of awareness or responsibility for your belongings leaves your body automatically making your body fly off the ride. 5 minutes later, reality hits as one remember that something is missing but then the train, bus or tram is long………….gone. Therefore the best way to avoid losing 2-5 pairs of gloves during the winter is by keeping everything in a bag when it’s not in use.

Presented here is the David Blaine of travel bags that comes with a playful print relying on optical illusion fooling human eyes into thinking that what’s before them is a bag wide open like Jenna Jameson’s legs during a shooting with everything fully visible. Attracting curious eyes and shoplifter hunting for vulnerable Christmas shopping this Paul Smith bag is exciting but casual enough for everyday use during the winter.

The Shoe Game

The difference between men and women is that men buy shoes because they have to, while women buy shoes because they like to. The average woman has more shoes than there are days in week. Given the amount a torture a pair of shoes have to withstand, worn out or uncared for shoes is the most common taboo amongst men. Filthy or damaged shoes automatically cancels out any dressing effort made on rest of the body as it’s the last thing someone will remember. It’s as bad as dirty teeth or hair that’s not combed, and gives a poor impression on one’s lifestyle.

A new pair of shoes makes us walk gracefully as the Queen of England as we walk carefully in order not to trash the precious things our feet are wearing. Like a set of new rims on a car, an addition to the shoes we already own can be very uplifting for our appearance.

Grecian Goddess Draping: Spring/Summer 2009 Trend

It's a logical flow-on from the one-shoulder fashion trend; a new breed of draping Grecian Goddess dresses. A notable runway trend for 2009, anything with a Grecian or Romanesque inspiration is a sure hit for the Spring/Summer 2009 season.

Coco Chanel 125th Anniversary

If you haven't noticed, it's getting harder to get your hands on money these days. Leave it to Karl Lagerfeld to spin the world economic downturn into a great photo op. Holding one of his newly designed Coco Chanel 125th Anniversary coins created by the French mint he of cold, hard cash, said "There might be less of it, but money can still be beautiful." Valid point—it's not very inspiring to think that the sweat from your brow converts into gray-and-green portraits of dead White guys. The Chanel coin, however, is a shiny bauble worth toiling for—even if it's not legal tender. Created in limited numbers, the 5 Euro coin will only be available in a limited run of 11,900 silver pressings and 99 gold pressings from the mint (no profits go to Chanel). Now granted, at $58 and $7,540 respectively, they're a little more inflated than the actual Euro (approximately $1.25). But, if you can get your hands on one (the gold versions seem to have already sold out), we suggest throwing in a little extra change to get a nice costume gold or silver chain, hitting up your local jeweler, and crafting your own wearable tribute to Ms. Gabrielle Chanel and the price of luxury. Just remember not to spend it all in one place.

Louis Vuitton x Murakami 5th Ave Store

Louis Vuitton’s flagship store at 5th Ave got an amazing make-over for the holidays, the vinyl display of Murakami’s iconic Monogram Multicolore print wraps around the building with neon lights shining through the windows. I’m not exactly sure where Murakami signed but the display is simply amazing! If you’re in New York you should definitely make a trip to see it in person. If not here’s a closer look at the “wrapped up” Louis Vuitton store

Raf Simons Black Windbreaker Parka

We know this isn’t a seasonal purchase, but buying things before you need them is always a wise thing to do. Windbreakers never really go out of style, although there’s some summers where they get really popular. With that said, if you want to step it up this year from your usual flimsy American Apparel piece, this Raf Simons jacket will do the trick. Add on the fact that it’s more than 50% off and you have a relative bargain. Get it from Seven New York.

Ato Autumn/Winter 2008

Given the amount of colour in their footwear, their main line is actually quite subdued, focusing more on shapes and patterns rather than colours. Other focuses in the collection are checks, large fur collars and, bizarrely, ponchos.
