The Originals | Photographs by Robert Maxwell

World renown Fashion and editorial photographer Robert Maxwell presents some of his latest work in a feature entitled The Originals. Capturing iconic figures in various fields of art and design, The Originals gives us a look into the minds of Japanese intellectuals: Takashi Murakami, Rinko Kikuchi, Kabuyoshi Araki, Limi and Yohji Yamamoto, Toshio Hara and Verbal & Yoon of Ambush Design. Definitely a very well composed, insightful look into a handful of influential personalities of Japanese heritage. Check it out at The New York Times.

ACNE For Lanvin Collection Available

After a long wait and much anticipation the ACNE For Lanvin collection is now available online. The collection consists of all sorts of pieces, including pants, jackets, shorts, shirts, all entirely made from ACNE denim.
Years ago we thought that the all denim look days were over and would probably not return. Then again, who would have thought that ACNE and Lanvin team up. Denim pants, jacket and shirt, all in one outfit, done right, seems to work. Actually, that’s an understatement - it works really well.

You can purchase the collection here.

Nudie Jeans Selvage Lab

Sweden’s Nudie is looking to increase their already strong denim market share with the Nudie Selvage Lab. Before we go there, let’s remember that Nudie is one of those ambassador types of denim companies - they bring the people into specialty denim shops with customers asking for Nudie by name. They’re known for their fit, quality, and break in. Aspiring denim heads look to Nudie to show them the future will hold at a sane price.

Now, with the Selvage Lab, Nudie hopes in producing one off denim units - hand laundered in their lab in Sweden - that are “inspired by vintage and real worn in jeans.” What you get is a pair of “broken” in denim which will save you endless hours of wear and Febreze spritzing. Each pair of Selvage Lab Nudies are unique and come with pure silver trims, narrow belt loops, and embossed leather patches. Let’s just call it premium. Selvage Lab Nudies not cheap and will not be available in large quantities, so be sure to ask your dealer for more information and availability.

Jasper Wong “Pitiful Fools” Exhibition

Earning an accolade as one of the top 200 illustrators in the world by Archive Magazine, artist Jasper Wong will look to open his latest solo show later this month. The artist’s style often features soft, free flowing colors with subject matter including juxtaposition of off-base elements of both American and Asian pop-culture. When looking at the re-appropriations of Jasper’s unhealthy love of the color pink, Mr. T and magical laser beams, you can’t help but smile as the artist’s fun-approach to his illustrations is evident. The show “Pitiful Fools” will open up on December 12th at 6 pm at San Diego’s Subtext, with the show wrapping up on January 11th.
