Kanye West for Louis Vuitton Sneaker

Finally, we see an official picture of one of the sneakers from the Kanye West and Louis Vuitton collaboration. The sneaker comes in all red with a simple form, but it features a special quilted flap on the back heel for your jeans. Check out the press release below:
PARIS — Marc Jacobs and the Louis Vuitton men’s studio director Paul Helbers have some design competition this season. Kanye West, who was sitting front row at the Vuitton show, has designed a line of five LV sneakers. Only one design, above, was featured in the show — a monochromatic midtop with no frills, save for a quilted flap in the back, all the easier to tuck pants into. “The inspiration came from a jacket with a huge collar in the movie ‘Dune,’ ” West says. “Most sneakers focus on the tongue, so I wanted to do something different.” West knows

Thomas Burberry diffusion line to shut down

The recession has forced companies to watch their like-for-like sale like it was a Hip-Hop album in its first week. This has ultimately lead to some cost cutting procedures as labels look to only keep profitable arms of their label. Drapers reports that Burberry is shutting down its diffusion line, Thomas Burberry. There’s no word on which collection will be its last but it can be assumed that S/S09 will be its last season.

Giuliano Fujiwara Autumn/Winter 2009

Creative director Masataka Matsumura displayed his Giuliano Fujiwara A/W 2009 collection in Milan this week, in what is his third year at the creative helm of the brand. Like most of Milan’s shows, the focus is on cut and fabric instead of colour, with the collection mostly in neutral tones. Paris Fashion Week : Balenciaga 2009 Fall Preview

Internationally recognized fashion designer Nicolas Ghesquière recently presented his latest work for Balenciaga’s 2009 Fall collection during Paris Fashion Week. The designer’s French couture label has seen a rise in popularity since his arrival in 1997 due to his keen eye for superior design. Although primarily known as catering to womenswear, Balenciaga brings forth their signature looks and strong attention to detail to the mens side for their newest runway expose’.

Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Collection Launch Party

Recognizing the efforts of fashion designer/artist Stephen Sprouse, Louis Vuitton launched a memorable affair last night, throwing together special gatherings at three separate locations in anticipation for their upcoming Stephen Sprouse tribute collection. Beginning at the Louis Vuitton flagship store in SoHo, the world renown label displayed their Stephen Sprouse bags with a live ’80’s show that had Marc Jacobs bringing back the era in a pair of LV tights. An exhibition at Deitch Projects and party at a club on the Bowery capped off the night, drawing guests that included Paper Magazine’s Kim Hastreiter, Nicole Miller, Tim Helen Lee Schifter, Donna Karan, Brooke Shields and Molly Sims. The mother of Stephen Sprouse was also in attendance with Deborah Harry putting on a mini-concert. The Marc Jacobs updated Stephen Sprouse collection is expect to hit Louis Vuitton outlets very soon.




















Kanye West for Louis Vuitton Sneakers Preview

After all the hoopla surrounding his collaboration with prestigious fashion house Louis Vuitton, Kanye West unveils the first design of six from his upcoming sneaker collection. Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2009 Sunglasses

High-end designer brand Dior Homme reveals a further look into sunglasses from their 2009 spring/summer runway show. Presented by Kris Van Assche, these are not your typical sunglass design as they have a futuristic/sci-fi look to it, adding to the eccentric collection of many other sunglasses out there. Coming in black, white and purple these new sunglasses are available now at Dior Homme boutiques.


Nicone Spring/Summer 2009 Preview

Founded by Helena Kapidzic and Alexander Gerlach, Berlin based Nicone was established in 2007. While the label does feature a range of items, their strongest pieces are their graphic print t-shirts. The drop-crotch trousers actually look wearable - they’re still an acquired taste - but these are just about the only pair we’d recommend to anyone. Check out Nicone’s site here.
