The Shoe Game
The difference between men and women is that men buy shoes because they have to, while women buy shoes because they like to. The average woman has more shoes than there are days in week. Given the amount a torture a pair of shoes have to withstand, worn out or uncared for shoes is the most common taboo amongst men. Filthy or damaged shoes automatically cancels out any dressing effort made on rest of the body as it’s the last thing someone will remember. It’s as bad as dirty teeth or hair that’s not combed, and gives a poor impression on one’s lifestyle.
A new pair of shoes makes us walk gracefully as the Queen of England as we walk carefully in order not to trash the precious things our feet are wearing. Like a set of new rims on a car, an addition to the shoes we already own can be very uplifting for our appearance.

Grecian Goddess Draping: Spring/Summer 2009 Trend

It's a logical flow-on from the one-shoulder fashion trend; a new breed of draping Grecian Goddess dresses. A notable runway trend for 2009, anything with a Grecian or Romanesque inspiration is a sure hit for the Spring/Summer 2009 season.
Coco Chanel 125th Anniversary

If you haven't noticed, it's getting harder to get your hands on money these days. Leave it to Karl Lagerfeld to spin the world economic downturn into a great photo op. Holding one of his newly designed Coco Chanel 125th Anniversary coins created by the French mint he of cold, hard cash, said "There might be less of it, but money can still be beautiful." Valid point—it's not very inspiring to think that the sweat from your brow converts into gray-and-green portraits of dead White guys. The Chanel coin, however, is a shiny bauble worth toiling for—even if it's not legal tender. Created in limited numbers, the 5 Euro coin will only be available in a limited run of 11,900 silver pressings and 99 gold pressings from the mint (no profits go to Chanel). Now granted, at $58 and $7,540 respectively, they're a little more inflated than the actual Euro (approximately $1.25). But, if you can get your hands on one (the gold versions seem to have already sold out), we suggest throwing in a little extra change to get a nice costume gold or silver chain, hitting up your local jeweler, and crafting your own wearable tribute to Ms. Gabrielle Chanel and the price of luxury. Just remember not to spend it all in one place.
Louis Vuitton x Murakami 5th Ave Store

Louis Vuitton’s flagship store at 5th Ave got an amazing make-over for the holidays, the vinyl display of Murakami’s iconic Monogram Multicolore print wraps around the building with neon lights shining through the windows. I’m not exactly sure where Murakami signed but the display is simply amazing! If you’re in New York you should definitely make a trip to see it in person. If not here’s a closer look at the “wrapped up” Louis Vuitton store
Dr Romanelli x A Love Movement “DR LOVE” Vests

Dr Romanelli and Tetsuzo Okubo of A Love Movement teamed up on their first collaborative project called Dr. Love. “Both brands share the ideal of recycling the discarded past order to create something fresh and contemporary. The fusion of Romanelli’s recycled panel technique with Tetsuzo’s colorful vintage patch narratives and cashmere-reworked lettering creates a dynamic and playful dialogue of meaning and form. The end result is a limited collection of vests delivered this Holiday season and into 2009.” The “DR LOVE” Vest collection is exclusively available at Maxfield in Los Angeles.

Murakami 2 Hollywood...

From: supertouchart
Article From Supertouch art:TAKASHI MURAKAMI, is now poised to become the country’s modern version of Walt Disney after news this week that he’s poised to set up a new animation studio in LA in summer 2009.Operating under the umbrella of KAI KAI KIKI, his artist management & personal production company, the studio will be located on North Highland Ave in close proximity to the nexus of Hollywood studio activity.Having proved his studio’s formidable animation chops with the Kai Kai Kiki-produced video for Kanye West’s “Good Morning,” and the “Superflat Monogram” short for Louis Vuitton, the company’s first pursuit will be the expansion of Murakami’s playfully fecal-friendly “Planting the Seeds” shorts starring his signature characters Kai Kai and Kiki that debuted at his “© Murakami” show in LA and Brooklyn last year into a feature-length film. Said Murakami about his new move into cartoons, “Animation and film have always been among my greatest influences, ever since I first saw ‘Star Wars’ and Hayao Miyazaki’s films. This studio represents a great step in the evolution of Kai Kai Kiki and gives me a closer proximity to the community of artists with whom I hope to collaborate as I continue my explorations of animated and live-action film.”
